The second race of IndyCar’s double-header took place on Sunday afternoon, and the action levels were raised well above what was on offer the day before.

Alex Palou took advantage of a well-timed caution to jump ahead into the top spot, securing his seventh win of the year and extending his points lead even further.

Josef Newgarden looked set to win yet again, but he was caught out by the late yellow and fell down to 10th. Scott Dixon and Marcus Armstrong rounded out the podium, giving Honda a 1-2-3 finish.

Quite a few crashes interrupted the afternoon, with Devlin DeFrancesco, Scott McLaughlin, Sting Ray Robb, and Marcus Ericsson among those that hit the wall.

Nolan Siegel, following his crash on Saturday, did not take part in the event on account of lingering concussion symptoms.

After a crazy couple days, IndyCar will pack up shop and travel to Toronto, Canada for the sole international round on the calendar.
