Formula 1 has announced its second successive 24-race calendar for what will be a landmark and historic 2026 season, with Madrid’s debut racing taking the place of Imola.

Next year’s campaign will see the introduction of brand-new regulations and, for the first time, the use of 100 per cent sustainable fuels, and all the action will once again take place across five continents over a whopping ten months.

Australia will once again kick off the year across March 6-8, with Abu Dhabi, as per usual, closing out the season on December 4-6.

All of this year’s races with the exception of Imola, as the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, as predicted, takes leave from the schedule.

It is replaced by a second Spanish race, which will take place across the weekend of September 11-13 at the as of yet uncompleted ‘Madring’, a city circuit in the capital, Madrid.

Another Feburary Ramadan ensured both Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are slated for April, with the British Grand Prix set for July 3-5.

Montreal is shifted forward to May, in what will be a date clash with the Indy500, as Monaco swaps with it to a new later date in June.

F1’s CEO Stefano Domenicali said: “2026 will be a new era for Formula 1 where we will witness a brand-new set of regulations for our sport, the cars and the engines that will be powered by 100% sustainable fuel.

“We are excited to welcome Madrid to the calendar, and to see huge automotive brands like Audi, Cadillac and Ford join the Formula 1 grid.

“It promises to be an unforgettable season, where once again we will come together at 24 amazing global venues to watch the best drivers in the world push themselves to the limit and produce incredible wheel to wheel racing for our millions of fans watching around the globe.

“I want to thank all our fans for their passionate support and the FIA, with all the volunteers, marshals and officials, as well as the promoters, partners, sponsors, host cities and the local motor racing federations for their commitment and support in delivering this schedule in what I know will be another historic year for Formula 1.”
