Four-time MotoGP race winner Jack Miller is waiting for an answer from Yamaha before deciding his future for the 2026 season.

The Australian joined Pramac Yamaha after being replaced at KTM by Pedro Acosta in 2025, signing a one-year deal that expires at the end of this season.

Earlier this year, Pramac Yamaha obtained the signature of two-time WorldSBK champion Toprak Razgatlioglu, meaning Miller or team-mate Miguel Oliveria will depart.

Yamaha has yet to make a final decision on who to keep within its satellite outfit, but Miller warns he has “options” and wants to secure his future as soon as possible.

“I’ve been more than patient enough. If you want me, you want me, if you don’t, you don’t. It’s as clear as that,” he said to MotoGP.com at Balaton Park.

“Your guess is as good as mine at the moment, in terms of what their strategy is and what they plan on doing.

“I have options, and I’m going to move forward with those options if it doesn’t come quickly.”

Where could Jack Miller end up in 2026?

Miller’s contract expires at the end of the 2025 season, but his alternative options could lead him to the WorldSBK paddock.

The 30-year-old has been heavily linked with moves to Ducati and BMW, but the former is reportedly close to signing Iker Lecuona.

Since joining Pramac Yamaha this season, he is currently the second-best Yamaha rider in the standings, 10 points ahead of factory rider Alex Rins.

Miller believes he has a lot to offer the Japanese brand, especially with development underway on the new V4 engine.

“I was looking forward to developing and moving forward with them to try and help them,” Miller said.

“I feel like I have a lot of information to give, a lot of input to give, and can help in a project like that.

“If they cannot see the value in that, well then, I understand and I will move on to something different.”

Toprak Razgatlioglu is already looking ahead to the 2027 MotoGP regulations as he prepares for his 2026 switch to the Pramac Yamaha team.

Yamaha announced the two-time WorldSBK champion last Tuesday, though the contract duration wasn’t confirmed, it’s widely assumed he inked a two-year deal.

MotoGP’s new era will bring a major overhaul of the technical regulation, including a reduction in engine sizes from 1000cc to 850cc and the removal of all right-height and holeshot devices.

It was also announced that Pirelli will become MotoGP’s tyre supplier starting in 2027, a move that could benefit Razgatlioglu given his experience with Pirelli compounds in WorldSBK.

“Has my dream come true? Yes,” Razgatlioglu announced to media at BMW’s press conference in Misano.

“I’m very happy, a little bit excited, and I’m thinking about it a lot because it’s all completely different, even at the bike level.

“I will have to adapt quickly and also learn the circuits, because there are six or seven that I don’t know. I’m mainly aiming for 2027, but I’ll have to prove something next year as well.”

“We have seen that Yamaha has started to improve, and next year they may even have a new engine.”

“We will see, but the most important thing for me is to be in MotoGP. I don’t know what next year will be like, but in 2027 everything will change, including the tyres.

“That’s why I say that’s my main goal. As I said, the important thing for me was to learn about the paddock, the tracks I don’t know, and also adapt to the new atmosphere.”

Toprak Razgatlioglu discusses his ‘calm’ approach to his first MotoGP season

Razgatlioglu is set to face multiple challenges as he enters the MotoGP paddock, and he emphasised the need for a “calm” approach.

The Turkish rider explained that adapting to new tracks and transitioning from superbikes to MotoGP machinery will be the biggest challenges.

“I think it will be a problem, but MotoGP is completely different and I think the first year in particular will be tough for me,” he admitted.

“I will have to stay calm because it’s a whole other world. I’ll just need time to adapt and improve.

“How will I learn the tracks? I don’t know. Maybe I will ride there with the MotoGP, or with the road bike. I don’t know yet. It’s too early to plan.

“My main concern? That’s easy: the position in the seat! We talked about this before the signing. They told me I will probably have more like 20 options this time,” he laughed.

“At the moment I’m not ready, but we’ll see. I don’t like to talk usually, but in MotoGP everything is different and I may have to learn a little more.”

Reports state that there has been a “major acceleration” in talks between Toprak Razgatlioglu and Pramac Yamaha for the 2026 MotoGP season.

Over the past few years, the Turkish rider has been heavily linked with a move to MotoGP, but no switch across has materialised.

The reigning WorldSBK champion’s contract with BMW expires at the end of the 2025 season, with multiple rumoured options reportedly on the table regarding Razgatlioglu’s future.

Razgatlioglu won his championships with Yamaha and BMW, and the rider has previously stated that this is his final chance to switch series.

Despite previously testing the Yamaha MotoGP bike in a series of private tests in the past, which left him dissatisfied, the two-time champion left the Japanese team to join BMW in 2024.

However, GPOne reports that Razgatlioglu has a good relationship with Yamaha’s new Managing Director, Paolo Pavesio.

In a previous interview with MotoGP’s Gear Up programme, Pavesio previously stated: “The relationship with Toprak has been built from four years working together, which brought us a world championship.

“This remains one of my personal highlights as well.

“He’s still today the most victorious Yamaha Superbike rider ever. And it’s a positive, very respectful relationship, which will keep going.”

This news comes after the 28-year-old previously dismissed rumours of a potential move to Honda’s WorldSBK team in 2026, followed by a move to its MotoGP project in 2027.

GPOne added that the “unexplored Turkish market” could be seen as an ideal opportunity for Liberty Media to grow the sport in untapped regions.

It is unknown who Razgatlioglu would directly replace should an agreement be made, but incumbent rider Jack Miller previously agreed on a one-year deal which expires at the end of 2025.

Speedweek reports that Sky Italia MotoGP reporter Sandro Donato Grosso predicts an announcement will be made at Mugello during the Italian Grand Prix on June 20-22.

Grosso’s strong ties with Pramac boss Paolo Campinoti position him as a key ally, predicting that Campinoti is expected to unveil the team’s 2026 line-up at its home race.

Jack Miller expressed his appreciation to Pramac Yamaha for keeping him in MotoGP after his future in the series looked uncertain beyond 2024.

KTM decided to part ways with Miller from 2025 early into the 2024 season after the Australian rider failed to get to grips with the bike.

He achieved just one podium throughout his two-year stint, which left his career hanging in the balance.

“MotoGP has been my life for 10 years now, and last year it looked like it could honestly all be over,” Miller stated to MotoGP.com.

“Since that moment, I just decided to enjoy every moment that I had on-track.

“I feel extremely blessed to be able to do this hopefully for a few more years. I feel like my time isn’t done yet – last year that was the biggest thing for me, I didn’t feel ready to step down yet, I still feel like I have more to do.

“I guess this opportunity with Yamaha and Pramac, a massive thank you to them and to Paolo [Campinoti] because he saved me.”

Yamaha ‘probably the most committed’ MotoGP entrant – Miller

The 30-year-old heaped praise on the Japanese marque’s efforts to return to the front of the pack once again.

Yamaha and Pramac formed a long-term partnership to become its satellite entity – a partnership that Miller perceives as “a second factory team.”

“Yamaha are probably the most committed out of any manufacturer that I’ve worked with, putting on a whole second factory team,” he said.

“It doesn’t stop there; that whole testing structure, moving that all to Europe and really trying to focus on more of a European base in that area [while] keeping a Japanese focus on quality and the way that they work.

“They’re finding this balance very well between the two [Europe and Japan] and they’re taking all the right steps to do that.”

Miller’s decade-long experience in the premier class will be valuable to Yamaha, considering he has spent time riding with Honda and Ducati too, and the Pramac outfit from 2018 to 2020.

Miguel Oliveira speaks on his move to Pramac following MotoGP test

Miguel Oliveira says that his Pramac Yamaha is “very different” to the bikes he has ridden in his MotoGP career following the Barcelona test.

Following an injury-plagued 2024 season at Trackhouse, Oliveira moved to the Pramac team to become a satellite Yamaha rider and will use an Inline4 machine for the first time in his career.

The Portuguese rider said that the Yamaha bike gives “good feedback” but was unlike anything he had ridden before.

“It was very, very different from what I was used to for sure,” Oliveira said via Crash.net.

“Especially in the braking phase it’s super different, but I have to say it was also a bike that is straight away very rider friendly.

“The bike gives you good feedback to tell you where the wheels are, and that’s super important.

“We’re not really looking for comfort or having a bike that is friendly to the rider, but a bike that is fast and I think we’re going to get an opportunity to work on that for sure.”

Miguel Oliveira: Pramac and Yamaha to take ‘more steps forward’

Oliveira admitted that he didn’t test many parts for Yamaha on his test debut, but instead the focus was on setup and having “a smooth transition” into the Pramac team.

“It was just a good setup day I would say,” Oliveira continued.

“We had many Yamaha engineers in the garage to help the team make a smooth transition into the new bike, new software and everything else.

“I also clicked very well with my new crew chief and data guy.

“We’re going to make more steps forward during the Winter tests for sure.

Oliveira also confirmed that the one area he would like Yamaha to improve on before the test in Sepang is “braking”.

He later added that he hoped there would be work on the stability of the bike under deceleration.

When asked about the difference between the Yamaha Inline4 and the V4s he had ridden before, Oliveira admitted that there are both positives and negatives to the new engine.

“It has positives and it has some things that need to be improved,” said Oliveira.
